Behind Illy Shoot, one photographer who has been working in Kuta Lombok for years
Surf is my daily job: every morning and every evening I am on the spots, camera ready, following the swell from Grupuk to Mawi. Between two sessions, I shoot the traditions of the island, its weddings and every match of Marspag Kuta.
What drives me
A good surf photo is not luck. It’s knowing the wave, the surfer and the light — and being there, again and again, until everything lines up.
